"The Way Home" EP Review
NightCast Records
The following comments were excerpted from a critique by the TAXI
music service of Jim's first EP/CD "THE WAY HOME" in August
2000.
The Way Home
"Good song. The melody is strong and the the guitar
sound is complimentary to the melody as well as contemporary sounding. The
rhythm section is solid and well recorded." . . . "Your phrasing
is exquisite. Wonderful approach."
Without You
"Pretty melody! This is a perfect sound for today's
contemporary jazz radio format which loves acoustic guitar. Your approach
in arrangement/production is understated, classy and appropriate. Your
melodic and rhythm playing is quite good. The pocket is deep and
consistent, and your parts all show emotion ... a great blend of
qualities."

"Loops are in!!! Contemporary jazz radio is
playing less and less live drum tracks. They have been heavily influenced
by urban music and almost require a drum loop these days to secure radio
play. So, you are totally on track with this one as a commercial
track. Your playing here feels confident and relaxed."
